Joined forces: society of vascular and interventional neurology and interventional neurology.

Joining forces is a good postulate for success. The council of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) is pleased about the new cooperation with the young journal Interventional Neurology . It is of importance to us to fulfill the missions of our society: – To operate and represent a society of persons interested in the innovative treatment of cerebrovascular and other neurological diseases. – To foster cooperation among specialists and subspecialists involved in the interventional treatment of neurological disorders. – To foster scientific research in the field of cerebrovascular diseases and neurointerventional procedures through internal and external collaboration with other groups. – To raise awareness and disseminate knowledge concerning developments in cerebrovascular diseases and neurointerventional procedures by promoting, conducting and supporting teaching activities for the public, physicians and scientists interested in this field. Such activities include but are not restricted to developing public educational resources, arranging professional meetings for the presentation and discussion of papers as well as practical workshops dealing with such developments. – To promote and improve training in vascular and interventional neurology in teaching programs in collaboration with other organizations. – To address practical issues faced by specialists and subspecialists involved in the interventional treatment of neurological disorders. The global and open concept of the journal with current representatives in the Editorial Board from Europe, China and Japan – now enforced by a team of Editorial Board members from the USA – is an ideal basis for a comprehensive and expansive exchange of scientific research in the entire field of interventional neurology, which not only includes cerebrovascular diseases but also other neurological diseases.
